More Madness

Of the not-so-sexy kind...
My sincere apology for the total run-on-looking sentence...
I don't know WHY I can't get the line breaks to show up between the darn sections!!!!!
We're moving {sigh}...
My dear husband has a "Too good to pass up" job offer in Houston
-So now you see the reason of my bloggy absense
and total lack of crafty time this summer-
So we're moving {double sigh}...
From the home that saved us from a canceled contract and
showed us that God truly works in mysterious ways.
From the home we bought just 1 month prior to "The Storm"...
(That's Katrina for any of you who don't know that I live in
Mandeville, Louisiana across the lake from New Orleans)
From the home where my girls have grown by leaps and bounds...
Here is a picture of them on Halloween night 2005...
Our first day back from evacuation

Here's a shot of them from their 1st day back at pre-school

And here's a shot of them before we left for dinner to celebrate Abby's 7th Birthday

My, don't they grow up too fast...

I guess because the girls are still young, they might actually become Texas girls...

SHAME ON YOU!!!!

We'll always be good Southern Louisiana girls, but with a bit more twang!!! ;-)

So here's to sad good-byes and new beginnings...

:-) So, does anyone want to buy a house? :-)

I can empathise Holly - I have had a few moves myself due to my husbands job - including 2 years in Houston! My son did develop a Texan twang but lost it after moving home to Australia. We have some lovely happy memories of our time in Houston - hope your relocation goes smoothly!

I am sorry about the move, and happy for you at the same time. My husband is from Baton Rouge he has lost his accent but never his love of LSU! Really its all about the priorities! Truth be told that is the first thing I that really caught my eye on your blog...a smocked LSU dress. Who Knew!

I'm still new to blogging, but your blog was one of my favorites. After reading this today I guess I know why....my son married a girl from Mandeville and they now live in Covington....small world. Good luck in Houston.

It seems like all of the petroleum engineers are ending up in Houston. My best friend lives in Katy, her dh is an engineer too. My Dad has had many offers, but refuses to leave Lafayette. Don't worry, you will always be a Southern Louisiana girl, that will never change : )

Oh Houston sounds like fun! They have Quilt Market there every year!! I hope everything goes smoothly for you (and your house sells).

I hope your move to Houston goes well. I live in one of the many suburbs and love every minute of it! If you need information on neighborhoods feel free to email. I have two kids, 10 & 7, and it's a great place for families.
